Archeologists are amazing at finding, dating and bringing history to life. Yet often their findings, captured and protected through time, are the subject of visual appeal unto themselves when arranged haphazardly at the site of the dig. You might imagine the forms in this piece being a similar collection. As such this is a study of form, focused on relationship of small and large, black and white.
These LDPE / HDPE abstract shapes were cut from a sheet of melted common plastic bags. There is an equivalent of 250 bags incorporated. Each shape is stud mounted onto a painted backdrop. Framing is pine painted brilliant white in acrylic.
